Top 10 best Universal Studios Orlando Family-Friendly rides

Heading on vacation with risk-adverse folks and little kids? Here are Coaster Corner’s Top 10 best Universal Studios Orlando Family-Friendly rides. We’ve tackled this topic for Walt Disney World Fans, and now it’s time to help our Universal guests!
What should you ride in Universal Studios if you’re not a fan of thrill rides?
Here are the top 10 activities in Universal Orlando for avoiding wild rides!

  1. Universal Studios – Despicable Me Minion Mayhemâ„¢
This IS a ride, you do wear a seatbelt, but it’s equivalent to sitting in a moving movie theater! During this ride you BECOME a minion and get to experience what it’s like to hang out with Gru! This ride is definitely aimed at children but I have fun every time that I ride!
  2. Islands of Adventure – Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journeyâ„¢, THE QUEUE
Yes, we’re advising you to walk through a Queue without getting on the ride. If you’re a fan of the Harry Potter books or movies, this immersive queue will bring you through Hogwarts during the time period of the 4th movie. It is absolutely worth the walk to see the statues, easter eggs, and characters we all love!
  3. Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure – Ride the Hogwarts Express
Muggles and Wizards alike enjoy this experience. Riding the Hogwarts Express is an easy way to get from park to park, it has a different story/experience depending on which way you’re riding, and it’s air conditioned! If you’ve ever wanted to know what it’s like to go from King’s Cross Station to Hogwarts, this is your opportunity!
  4. Islands of Adventure – Caro-Seuss-elâ„¢
This one is relatively self explanatory; it’s the carousel in Seuss Landing, and it does in fact Merry-Go-Round
  5. Islands of Adventure – One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fishâ„¢
This is the “Dumbo” ride equivalent at Universal Orlando, but it includes the small chance of getting wet. The fish could spray at you, but it’s a slow fun round ride!
  6. Islands of Adventure – The Cat in the Hatâ„¢
This attraction in Seuss Landing is very similar to the Winnie the Pooh ride at Magic Kingdom. It’s a medium speed dark ride that tells the story of the Cat in the Hat, and it’s usually fringed which is perfect in the Orlando weather!
  7. Universal Studios – MEN IN BLACKâ„¢ Alien Attackâ„¢
Welcome to the Men in Black. You’re here to shoot bad aliens with laser guns. That’s it, that’s the premise. Imagine Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin but you don’t control your own spin.
  8. Islands of Adventure – The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride!â„¢
This may be an unpopular opinion, but I feel like this ride in Seuss Landing is like the People Mover of Universal. It’s on a raised track but it doesn’t go particularly fast. It also gives you a bird’s eye view tour of parts of Seuss Landing while also telling a story!
  9. Universal Studios – E.T. Adventure
Did you know that this iconic ride is the oldest attraction in Universal Studios Orlando? Did you know that the plot of this ride is Steven Spielburg’s proposal for the 2nd (never produced) E.T. movie? The ride vehicle is similar to Peter Pan in Magic Kingdom, but you’re on a slow moving bicycle rather than a boat! This ride is family friendly to an extreme and saturated in nostalgia.
  10. Islands of Adventure – Flight of the Hippogriffâ„¢
This is probably the most daring ride that I’ve added to this list. Flight is a kiddy coaster themed for Buckbeak, including a queue that walks past Hagrid’s hut!
