When we got to the Dolphin to check in, Jr Reporter Ned and I were starving. I asked for the best option for grabbing a quick lunch at the front desk. He quickly pointed us toward “The Fountain”. According to a recent press release, “This ice cream fountain and snack shop is the ideal stop for crisp salads, custom-grilled burgers and a delectable array of hearty sandwiches and sweet treats.”
After heading to our room to drop off our bags (and film room tours), we were both more than ready to eat.
We took a few wrong turns looking for the restaurant, but that just served to help us work up more of an appetite!
Once we found The Fountain, which you can get to by taking the Central Elevators to floor 1, Ned was instantly disappointed that we weren’t eating at Todd English’s “bluezoo” because according to him, it has an infinitely cooler name. When the Fountain’s hostess asked if he likes Burgers, he was sold.

Vibes (at The Fountain)
Instagramable
2.5/5 – I’d say yes. With the right angles and a little editing, the theming of the diner would look great on your social media. The counter has bar stools that can spin, and the neon sign behind the bar makes it clear what you’re doing here.
Family friendly
5/5 – The menu is incredibly family friendly, though the pricing is higher than an average theme park meal. Ned appreciates anywhere where we can order a hamburger and ate everything on his plate!
Date friendly
3/5 – While this wouldn’t be my first choice for a date on Disney property, popping down here after a long day of park hopping could be very satisfying. If you’re looking for romantic vibes, unless you’re really into 50’s diners there are much better options at the Dolphin for a date, for example Shula’s Steakhouse.
Service
5/5 – The service here was fantastic. Everyone was friendly like you’d expect at the 50’s diner it’s themed for. Our waitress and the manager both checked in to ensure that we were doing okay, and asked if we needed anything. When I asked for my burger to have no bun, the waitress even asked if I’d like it lettuce wrapped, which not everyone would think of.

Consumables (Food&Bev) (at The Fountain)
Flavor
3.5/5 – Standard American seasoning. The burgers are just beef, the cheese is kraft singles or similar, but the veggies are fresh and crisp. The sweet potato fries and french fries are seasoned with salt. Simple, but tasty enough for a quick lunch.
Cost Vs. Portion
2/5 – The kids meal, which includes a burger, fries, and a drink, was $13. My Classic burger, which also comes with fries, was $20. I would say this is more expensive than other food of the same quality/portions on Disney property.
Quality
3/5 – The burgers are not hand packed patties, but they were tasty and cooked well. I dislike nothing more than overcooked meat, and our burgers were juicy and easy to slice through with my butter knife. As mentioned earlier, the veggies were crisp and flavorful.
Bravery
5/5 – None required. Even the most timid of eaters will find something to eat here.
Would I recommend eating here?
Short answer? Yes.
Long answer? If you’re at EPCOT and want to sit down somewhere nearby, this would be a good option. If you’re staying at Swan or Dolphin this would be a great option. Everything about our experience here was neutral to positive. However, it also wouldn’t be a place I would go out of my way to dine at.
