Planning Theme Park Magic for Every Walk of Life

Join us for a relaxing day on the Magic Kingdom Monorail Loop!

Disney World is an exciting destination for both kids and adults, but sometimes you just need a day of relaxation. One of the best ways to enjoy a low-key day is by exploring the monorail loop. The monorail is a scenic, air-conditioned transportation system that takes you to three resorts and Magic Kingdom. Here is an itinerary for a relaxing day in Walt Disney World on the monorail loop.

9:00 am: Start your day with a light breakfast at the Grand Floridian Café. This charming restaurant is located inside the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, one of the most luxurious Disney resorts. Try the avocado toast or Mickey-shaped waffles and enjoy the Victorian ambiance.

10:00 am: Board the monorail to Magic Kingdom. Instead of rushing to ride every attraction, take a stroll around the park and appreciate the details. Stop by the floral Mickey near the entrance. Listen to the Main Street USA background music. People-watch from a bench.

12:00 pm: Head back to the monorail and hop off at the Contemporary Resort. The Contempo Café has a wide selection of grab-and-go sandwiches, salads, and desserts, so you can pick your lunch and eat it on the terrace overlooking Bay Lake. For a more formal lunch, Steakhouse 71 is spectacular and located in the lobby of The Contemporary. (If you’re feeling fancy, come back for dinner, California Grill on the top floor offers gourmet cuisine and stunning views.)

1:30 pm: Take the monorail to the Polynesian Village Resort. This tropical oasis is a fan-favorite, thanks to its lush gardens, sandy beaches, and tiki-themed decor. Spend some time at the beach, exploring the resort, and grab a Dole Whip from Pineapple Lanai. After that, if you’re 21+ consider swinging by Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto for some adult tiki magic before you continue.

4:00 pm: Return to the monorail and make your way back to the Grand Floridian. Visit the Enchanted Rose lounge for a signature cocktail. We highly recommend the Lavender Fog as relaxing cocktails go.

5:00 pm: Ride over to Magic Kingdom once more. This time, catch a seat on the Walt Disney World Railroad. Relax while the train takes you on a scenic tour of the park.

6:00 pm: End your day at the Polynesian, where you can savor a delightful dinner at ‘Ohana. This is an all-you-care-to-enjoy dinner featuring Hawaiian-flavored specialties, including their legendary ʻOhana Noodles.

There are plenty of ways to enjoy a leisurely day in Disney World. You don’t have to sacrifice the magic! By exploring the monorail loop and the nearby resorts, you can unwind, recharge, and create lasting memories. What are you waiting for? Hop aboard and start your relaxation adventure.
